A mother was left horrified after her six-year-old daughter was subjected to a graphic ‘sex room’ while playing a video game targeted at children.
Peggy told Kidspot she was watching her six-year-old daughter play computer game Roblox when a ‘friend’ invited her into a private room in the online world.
She quickly realised that the apparent friend was a stranger, and her daughter’s character in the virtual world had been taken into a totally inappropriate space.
‘Luckily, I was sitting next to her and noticed out of the corner of my eyes that one of the characters and breasts so it made me look closer,’ Peggy told the publication.

Roblox allows users to create rooms to play games and the room was filled with ‘users’ performing sexual acts on one another
Despite being too young to understand what was going on, Peggy took the game away from her daughter and recorded the sexual acts to inform other parents.
‘She had absolutely no idea what she was looking at, but I would hate to think about what would have been said to her.’
Peggy reported the room and it was immediately removed.
Roblox is an online gaming platform where users are able to create their own games.
According to their ‘Privacy and Cookie Policy’, users are required to be aged 13 or over, and if they are younger, must provide an email for a parent.
Parents are able to block chat settings for their children if they are underage.
On its website, Roblox describes its platform as a family-friendly environment where it also allows users to engage in live chats with people all over the world.
Kidspot reported that YouTube revealed many Roblex videos containing sexual content and other violent themes, such as school shootings. Users attempt to get around the filters by using ‘shex’ instead of ‘sex’.
