Mum-of-two Jo Lloyd, 42, debuts her stunning new figure after she went from a size 20 to a size 6

Mum-of-two and self-confessed ‘serial dieter’ Jo Lloyd has debuted her sensational new figure in a swimwear shoot, after she went from a size 18-20 to a slim size 6 in under a year.

The 42-year-old, from Marshall in Victoria, tipped the scales at 97.8 kilograms and said she felt ‘breathless’ and ‘lived in her pyjamas’ when she decided to ditch the fad diets and really take charge of her weight.

Jo now weighs just 55.2 kilos, and explained she feels ‘so proud’ to be able to wear a swimsuit to the beach.

'I used to live in my nightie and pyjama pants, so it feels so good to be able to wear a swimsuit or dress with confidence and happiness,' Jo said (pictured before and after)

What is Jo’s typical day on a plate?

* BREAKFAST: Lemon water and smoothie

* MID MORNING: Muffin or bliss ball

* LUNCH: Wrap or soup

* MID AFTERNOON: Snack bar by The Healthy Mummy

* DINNER: A meal planned dinner from The Healthy Mummy like lasagne

* DESSERT: Healthy chocolate mousse with berries

‘I feel absolutely amazing. I have more energy, I’m happier and just can’t believe how easy it was to change my life in under 12 months.’

To transform her body in a year, Jo explained that she swapped the convenience and packaged foods she so often relied on for home-prepped meals cooked from scratch.

She now preps plenty of meals in advance, making sure there is always something on hand in her freezer if she feels tempted to eat unhealthily.

‘A typical day on my plate is a warm lemon water and a Healthy Mummy smoothie for breakfast, before I have a muffin or bliss ball as a snack mid-morning,’ Jo said.

‘Lunch is usually a wrap or soup, before I have a Healthy Mummy snack bar to help to curb those 3pm sugar cravings.’

For dinner, Jo said she’ll usually have a meal plan dinner from The Healthy Mummy, and she ‘rarely’ repeats meals as she likes to have something different every night.

‘I might have a Snickers mousse or choc mousse with berries for dessert,’ Jo said.

She never denies herself a little of what she loves, but rather uses the Healthy Mummy app to make nutritious twists on unhealthy favourites.

Alongside the healthier diet, the mum-of-two explained she has made exercise a priority – which she often does with her two boys, aged six and four, in tow.

Jo said she goes for workouts that target her stomach and bum, including squats and lunges, and also takes them out for long walks to keep up her cardio fitness.

‘Now I’ve lost the weight, I’ve been all about maintenance,’ she said.

Jo said she walks or jogs on a treadmill at home five or six days each week, in order to make sure she hits 10,000 steps every day.

Jo said that she was delighted recently to be a guest at a wedding and slip into a size 6 full-length gown, having hated getting dressed to go out previously (pictured before and after)

‘I love dressing up for functions now and I love shopping for them too,’ Jo said.

‘I’m now a size 6-8 and I just love being able to buy off the rack with no trying on first!

This is a massive non-scale victory for me with no more disappointed feelings when clothes don’t fit.’

When it comes to her advice, the mum recommends setting small goals and ticking them off and moving the goalposts every time you reach them.

‘Don’t compare yourself to others,’ Jo added.

‘You’re on your own weight loss journey.’
