A creative mother-of-one has made an impressive cake inspired by Disney’s Moana for her daughter’s fourth birthday using three $4.50 mud cakes from Woolworths.

Mum Rochelle shared images of the spectacular dessert to a popular Australian Facebook group, impressing hundreds online.

The ‘island cake’ featured two incredible chocolate mountains, chocolate seashells, a Moana figurine and a surrounding turquoise blue ocean made from jelly.

Rochelle followed a video by YouTuber  'emmymade', who stacked the three circular cakes on top of each other with ganache in between

While the detailed cake looked difficult to make, Rochelle said it was ‘easier than it looks’ and watched a YouTube tutorial for assistance.

The dessert was carved to create the basis of the mountain shapes and underwater portion of the cake, then the mountain peaks were made using the excess cake and ganache.

The incredible surrounding firm blue jelly representing the sea was made using gelatine, water, sugar and lemon juice.

Images of the end result caught the attention of hundreds of others online who were impressed with the outcome.

‘Wow! That’s awesome! Just simply amazing!’ one woman wrote.

‘How creative! Just love it. Your daughter is lucky to have such a skilled mum to do such a gorgeous cake,’ another added.

A third said: ‘This looks so good!!!!! My daughter loves Moana! Think I will be doing something like this.’ 

What you’ll need to make an ‘island’ jelly cake

Three pre-made chocolate cakes of the same size

Chocolate ganache: 

360g semi-sweet chocolate

360ml heavy cream

Jelly:

125g powdered gelatine

350ml water for blooming gelatine

600ml of water

150g of sugar

1 drop of blue gel food colouring

Optional clear jelly flavouring of choice
