Hardworking mum wins $3million after accidentally buying an Oz Lotto ticket: ‘Unbelievable’

  • A mum has hit the big time by pocketing an entire $3million of OZ Lotto winnings
  • The NSW mid north coast woman accidently bought the top-scoring ticket
  • She was meant to buy a Wednesday ticket but bought one for Tuesday instead

A mum has scored a cool $3million for herself after purchasing an Oz Lotto ticket by accident in an ‘unbelievable’ lucky break.

By chance, she bought Tuesday’s division one winning entry at the CTC Tobacco shop in Taree on the NSW mid-north coast, intending to buy another lotto ticket for Wednesday.

But when she realised she had paid for the Oz Lotto 12-game QuickPick instead of her usual lottery ticket, she decided to ‘hold on to it’, just in case.

A NSW mum turned out to be the only winner of the Oz Lotto draw 1508 pocketing the entire $3million up for grabs this week – but she did it all by accident

The woman turned out to be the only winner of the Oz Lotto draw 1508 pocketing the entire $3million up for grabs.

‘It’s unbelievable. It’s an extraordinary amount of money,’ the winner told The Lott.

She said she couldn’t sleep after she saw the winning numbers and thought it must have been a mistake, as winning lotto ‘happens to other people’.

‘I don’t usually buy Oz Lotto – I’ve probably only bought a ticket in it twice in my life.

‘But the other day, I was getting my usual ticket and must have accidentally asked for a ticket into Tuesday’s draw instead of Wednesday’s.

‘After the ticket was printed, I realised it was the wrong one, but I thought I should just hold onto it.’

‘I’m glad I did now.’

She said she will use the windfall to pay for renovations and to help set her family up for the future.

CTC Taree owner Paul Rayment said he was excited his store sold the division one entry.

‘That’s awesome! That’s the first one for us and it’s great to have one under our belt,’ he said.

The winning numbers in the Oz Lotto draw 1508 on Tuesday this week were 26, 7, 38, 10, 37, 42 and 27, while the supplementary numbers were 47, 33 and 34.
