Mum’s ‘horrifying’ spot on son’s baby monitor leaves her and thousands of parents shaken

Mum’s ‘horrifying’ spot on son’s baby monitor leaves her and thousands of parents shaken up: ‘I’m never using one of these again’

  • A mum’s baby monitor showed suspicious activity while no one was home
  • Ashley Meredith found a ghostly image of someone in her son’s crib

A woman was horrified by an ‘unsettling’ find on her infant’s baby monitor while no one was home.

Ashley Meredith, from the US, was having dinner with her family when her phone buzzed with an alert of movement on the baby monitor.

The handy device detected noise and motion inside her son’s crib and immediately sent photos of the area to Ashley’s phone.

The mum is usually grateful for the feature as it alerts her when her son wakes up from his naps – but knowing she had left an empty house made the notification eerie.

Ashley immediately checked her phone and found a blurry photo of a little girl looking directly into the camera.

‘On one particular night, my husband, kids and I were out and about and I get a notification on my phone that there is movement and a face,’ she said in a video.

As the whole family was dining together, Ashley’s mind jumped to worrying about a home invasion.

But checking the feed from her monitor divulged something different.

She revealed the photo from the monitor: a young girl with blackened eyes looking directly at the camera lens.

The mum went back and forth with photos of her baby to ensure that it wasn’t just a looped image from earlier.

‘I have no words because I have no idea what this is, and I have showed it to several people and they don’t know what it is either,’ she said. ‘And this is the only video I cannot play back. I am a little freaked out.

The family only recently moved into their house five months ago, but experienced no other paranormal activity.

‘This has been playing on my mind because I don’t understand it,’ she said. ‘It could be a glitch – but it’s a little unsettling because we just moved into this house a few months ago.’

Ashley also added that there were no dolls in her home or near her son’s crib.

The mum made a series of follow up videos wherein she attempted to make sense of the strange incident.

She revealed that the camera she used was an invidyo WiFi Baby Monitor ($208) which has only ‘malfunctioned’ once.

Both ventures unveiled the photo of a young girl staring at the camera.

Thousands were equally spooked and demanded Ashley leave the home altogether.

‘Call the police and never go back,’ a woman said.

‘It is 100 per cent a baby face. Leave now.’

Some provided helpful suggestions.

‘Baby monitors are notorious for picking up feeds from other cameras in the area if you’re connected to WiFi.’

‘It’s probably picking up a face from some packaging or toy in the background.’

While others joked about otherworldly presences.

‘A ghost mum just needed a break.’

‘I guess you’ve just adopted a Victorian child’s spirit.’
