Muslim convert ‘plotted mass-casualty terror attacks’ 

A Muslim convert accused of planning a terrorist attack on Oxford Street or Madame Tussauds has appeared in court. 

Ginger-haired Lewis Ludlow is also charged with trying to join ISIS in the Philippines.

It is alleged the 26-year-old researched and planned to attack the tourist hotspots in London from his home in Rochester, Kent.

Mark Dawson, prosecuting, said: ‘Charge one relates to the defendant’s intention to travel to the Philippines to join Daesh there.

‘Charge two relates to the contact he has with Abu Yaqeen, a man in the Philippines to send money to the benefit of ISIS fighters in the Philippines.

‘Charge three relates to the defendant planning a large scale multiple casualty vehicle-bourne attack perhaps in the Oxford Street area of London and Madame Tussauds.’

Ludlow is also accused of swearing an oath of allegiance to ISIS and its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

The terror suspect wore a Muslim skull cap, a green t-shirt and prison issue tracksuit bottoms in the dock.  

He spoke confirm his name, date of birth, address and his British nationality.

Ludlow faces two two counts of engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism between 11 March and 19 April this year.

He also faces a single count of arranging funds or property for the purposes of terrorism on or before 3 February 2018.

No bail application was made and he was remanded in custody.

He will appear before the Central Criminal Court on 11 May.
