Alex and Emily were announced as My Kitchen Rules’ 2018 victors on Sunday evening.
After serving up an impressive five-course menu, the duo were awarded the coveted MKR trophy and pocketed $250,000 in prize money.
After hearing the news that they had won, the pair were shocked, with Emily jumping as she reacted to the win: ‘I’m so happy… so surreal!’

Gold Coast winners Alex and Emily scored a total of 56 points out of 60, whereas their Melbourne rivals Kim and Suong only scored a total of 52 points.
The victors were given the only ten in the finale by judge Liz Egan, as she praised their five-course menu: ‘This was a grand final menu in every way. Tonight I score you… ..a ten.’
Manu congratulated the runner-ups on their tremendous effort: ‘Unfortunately you just missed out, but you should be so proud of what you have achieved.’
Kim and Suong looked disappointed, but turned to Alex and Emily to say: ‘We are very happy for you – a well deserved win!’

Reacting to the news of their win, Alex told his partner to ‘pinch me’ as the judges confirmed: ‘Alex and Emily, you have just won $250,000. Congratulations!’
The dinner guests cheered, chanted and whistled from the viewing platform as the duo hugged each other in an emotional display of relief and celebration.
‘Winning MKR is our ticket to getting what we wanted, to making our dream a reality,’ Emily said with a large grin on her face.
Alex agreed, announcing: ‘Everything that we’ve worked towards, everything in our lives that we’ve worked towards… we’re finally gonna own our own place!’
The joyous moment came after the couple endured a tearful fight while prepping their fourth course.
They had to plate 100 dishes of restaurant-quality food to win $250,000 in the dramatic tour-hour grand finale of My Kitchen Rules.

As Alex attempts to make light of the stressful situation int he kitchen, Emily quipped: ‘Babe, stop it. The pressure is really building up. This is the fourth course. We are exhausted. We’re trying to keep our head focused, all these different elements.’
Alex claimed he was on track, adding: ‘Stop having a go at me every time we plate. I’m kind of bored of it.’
Starting to tear up, Emily couldn’t contain her emotions: ‘You’ve just been having a go at me the whole time!’
‘Oh, honey. OK. OK, I didn’t. OK, I’m apologising, alright? I’m sorry,’ Alex quickly tried to remedy the situation as he hugged his crying lady love.

‘Emily’s really upset. I know I kind of snapped like I shouldn’t have, but I’m just feeling, you know, so much adrenaline. It’s kind of just coming out of me, and I don’t mean it to be,’ he later explained to the camera.
On screen, Alex continued to comfort Emily: ‘I love you. It’s OK. It’s OK. It’s looking amazing, OK? Just try and hold it together, OK?’
Former rival Ash looked upset by the display: ‘It’s breaking my heart. Emily’s just burst into tears. They’re still trying to plate up. It’s just chaos.’

Emily pulled herself together and told Alex: ‘Just tired. I’m just really tired.’
Alex understood completely, adding: ‘I know. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to yell at you.’
The pair backstage made up as they prepared to head back to the kitchen to serve dessert and await the results from the judges and guests on the performance.
