A mum was left horrified after a doll she bought for her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter appeared to mutter explicit insults.

Siobhan Fox, 30, from Tamworth, believes she captured the My Little Baby Born Walks Doll, saying ‘you b****, you b****’ instead of the ‘mama’ and ‘papa’ as it was expected to.

Siobhan and husband Daniel, 30, were forced to take the toy off little Darcey Fox.

‘My husband heard it first, he put the new batteries in when I was in the kitchen and then he called me in and told me to listen to the doll,’ the mother said.

‘Well, I could not believe what I was hearing – it was so clear, we both looked at each other in shock as my daughter then repeated the word.’

The worried parents had to take the doll away from Darcey before she repeated the offensive words again.

The angry mum said: ‘I had to take the doll off her, I couldn’t have her going around with a doll saying that and repeating it. She is at that age where she picks up all words.’

It had been bought by the parents from a Toys ‘R’ Us store in Tamworth – it was at the top of Darcey’s Christmas list after she saw her friend with one.

The tot was delighted when she first received the toy but has now been left devastated without her Christmas present.

Siobhan said: ‘Darcey was not my friend for ages after taking the doll off her yet I was not allowing her to have it, she had a lot of tears due to this doll.

‘My daughter just loves dolls. She did have a couple more but this is the one she wanted, so to cheer her up we had to go out and buy her a Baby Wow Emma to make up for taking the doll away as she thought she had been naughty for us taking it off her.’

The disappointed mum has been offered a refund or exchange from the Toys ’R’ Us store but said she doesn’t want to see the product sold anymore.

It was expressed to Siobhan that the doll’s pronunciation could be due to low batteries or an American accent.

But the unimpressed mum insists that new batteries were used.

The store has said it is investigating the incident.
