My Unorthodox Life star Julia Haart rails against ex-husband Silvio Scaglia in season two trailer

My Unorthodox Life star Julia Haart railed against her ex-husband Silvio Scaglia in the trailer for the upcoming second season of the Netflix show, which will lay bare the intimate details of their bitter divorce.

Designer and entrepreneur Haart, now 51, who decided to leave her strict religious household at age 42 and has since made a major name for herself in the fashion world, married Elite World Group CEO Scaglia, 64, in June 2019 – and for almost three years, the couple ran the modeling agency together as co-CEOs.

But in February 2022, news hit the web that Scaglia had suddenly fired Haart from her position as CEO, and hours later – it was reported that the Netflix star had filed for divorce from her husband.

After that, the two became embroiled in a nasty feud – Haart went on to sue him for ‘wrongful’ termination and even filed a restraining order against her ex, stating in court documents that she felt ‘terrified’ of him after he became ‘increasingly volatile, abusive, and unhinged’ in the final weeks of their marriage.

Scaglia then accused Haart of ‘illegally’ withdrawing $850,000 from the company account and stealing a company-owned Bentley, while she claimed he took out ‘millions’ to ‘fund his lavish lifestyle’ and never gave her a salary for her work as co-CEO.

Now, fans will get an inside look at the messy split, as it appears that the drama was all captured on camera as part of the second second of Haart’s Netflix show, which will premiere on the streaming site on December 2. And in the trailer for the upcoming season, viewers got a small glimpse of what will come.

In one scene of the preview, Haart could be seen frantically telling someone, ‘Silvio fired me, it’s in the press already. He shut off my email access, he took me off the credit cards. He has lost his freaking mind.’

Another clip showed the fashion mogul stating to her friends that Scaglia was going to try to ’empty the apartment.’ She then asked, ‘How do we stop him?’

‘Does he actually think I’m gonna fold and crumble? Has he f**king met me?’ she told the camera in a different part of the trailer.

Haart was born in Moscow, Russia, and emigrated to the U.S. with her parents at the age of three. When she was 11, they settled in Monsey, a suburb 35 miles north of New York City with the largest population of Hasidic Jews in the US outside of New York City, with nearly half of households speaking Yiddish or Hebrew.

‘We lived in the 1800s,’ she previously told the Los Angeles Times of her Yeshivish background, explaining that access to outside information via television, radio, or even newspapers was was hard to come by.

She also described a sexist worldview wherein men studied the Torah but women did not ‘because their minds weren’t capable of grasping it.’

She explained: ‘I was told, “Women’s minds are light – nashim da’atan kalos.” Where I lived, women were to be rarely seen and never heard.

‘Our lives were governed by a web of modesty laws that required us to not only cover our bodies head-to-toe, but to behave comparatively, as well. You grow up thinking you don’t matter at all.’

Haart got married at the age of 19 to a man named Yosef Hendler, and together, they had four children – Batsheva, Miriam, Shlomo, and Aron – who were raised with the same religious upbringing.

But seeing her daughter Miriam face the same struggles to conform as she did made her realize it was time to leave. She began secretly selling insurance to save up money, and she was finally able to break free in 2012.

Soon after she left the religious community, Haart launched her own shoe line after finding investors ‘in the craziest places,’ including on a plane and in an eye doctor’s office.

She then landed a collaboration with La Perla, and by 2016, she was the brand’s creative director. That’s when she met Scaglia, who had acquired La Perla years earlier.

The two started dating in 2016 and became husband and wife in June 2019. But in early 2022, their romance came to a dramatic end – and following their split, Haart claimed in court documents that she ‘experienced severe emotional distress’ during their relationship.

‘He has routinely berated me, calling me “a venomous snake,” a “monster,” and a “liar,” in the presence of third parties and at times, my children,’ she wrote in her petition for a restraining order against Scaglia, which was ultimately denied.

‘One of [his] favorite epithets is to tell me to “go f**k yourself. In January 2022, I confronted [Scaglia] about his abusive behavior and told him that if anyone ever heard how he acts and speaks to me, they would think he is a horrible person.

While discussing her childhood, Haart said modesty for women was paramount and access to outside information via television, radio, or even newspapers was was hard to come by

‘In response, [he] threatened me, stating: “If you ever go to the press about how I treat you or the kids, I will kill you.”

‘I have become an emotional wreck for fear of him returning to my home at any time of the day or night.

‘Recently, he summarily and without cause dismissed me from our jointly owned business, cut off my credit cards and made baseless allegations against me.’

In March 2022, things got messier when Scaglia filed a complaint against Haart in which he claimed that she stole a $401,500 Bentley that was owned by Elite World Group following her termination.

He also alleged that spent more than $2 million of the company’s money in 2021 alone, and that she used Elite World Group’s funds to purchase herself ‘designer clothes and shoes, go on luxury vacations, and get cosmetic procedures,’ Us Weekly reported.

In court documents obtained by the outlet, Scaglia alleged that she used Elite World Group’s assets as a ‘personal piggy bank’ and ‘frequently charged personal expenses on the company credit card.’

She later called his claims ‘ridiculous’ and ‘ludicrous’ during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

‘Honestly, what I can say, is these are genuinely ludicrous allegations. I’ve never taken a penny that doesn’t belong to me,’ she said.

‘And the beauty of knowing the truth is you know the truth, and to me, it’s just another battle that I have to face to fight for my freedom.

‘Obviously, I can’t get into the details. All I can say is [that] I’ve prevailed so far. I will continue to fight until I prevail, and hopefully there’s purpose in all this suffering.

‘Hopefully, I become stronger and independent, and I realize that I don’t need men. That would be nice, to make that realization. I’m not there yet, I got to get there.’

In June 2022, she filed a counter suit claiming that Scaglia took out $1.5 million from an account that held her CEO earnings.

Instead of a yearly salary, Haart claimed that she made two per cent of EWG’s annual gross revenue, but she said her ex-husband eventually took ‘complete control over the account.’ The lawsuits are still ongoing.
