Prince Harry’s polo-pal Nacho Figueras has praised the royal for his ‘realness’ and said the Duke is ‘serious about improving life for kids’ who have not had the same advantages in life.

The Argentinian, 42, has played polo alongside Prince Harry, 35, in various matches over the years, and was among the first to meet his son Archie in June, having visited Windsor shortly after his birth.

Speaking about his friendship with the royal, Nacho told Town and Country magazine: ‘What I like the most about him is how real he is and how serious he is about improving life for kids that have not had the blessings that we’ve had.’ 

He recently launched a perfume named after the Duke’s hometown ‘Windsor’, with a portion of the sales proceeds donated to Prince Harry’s charity Sentebale. 

He went on to say that the that the perfumes were motivated by a desire to add a ‘little grain of sand’ to the cause, and to ‘an incredible man who does so much to make the world a better place.’

Nacho, a father-of-four, launched the selection of six fragrances last month, including one named ‘Windsor’, which hinted at a ‘brotherhood of kindred spirits’ with the Duke. 

Posting on Instagram about the launch, the Argentinian wrote: ‘The locations that inspired this collection evoke sentimental memories of time spent there with my wife Delfina and our children.’

He has now opened up about his motivation to launch the perfume collection, saying he wanted to do something that could continuously help Sentabale.

Prince Harry, set up the organization in 2006 to support orphans and vulnerable children affected by the HIV and AIDS epidemic in Lesotho, Africa.

He continues to play in charity polo matches in support of the organisation since, even travelling overseas to play in a game in Rome shortly after his son Archie’s birth in May. 

Nacho has been to Lesotho with Prince Harry three times, most recently opening the Mamohato Centre together in 2015. 

He said the charity, of which he is an ambassador, remained ‘incredibly close to our hearts’.   

He also revealed that Prince Harry was ‘the first one to wake up’ during their trips to  Lesotho, and was always up to date with the goings-on.

Nacho said that the Duke would often point out things which should be fixed, as well as asking for updates on equipment.  

 

Nacho attended the wedding of Harry and Meghan, and is often pictured posing alongside the Prince at polo matches.
