Nadia Bartel swaps Derby Day glam for activewear as she is spotted running errands in Melbourne

She’s normally a Derby Day fixture at Flemington, but on Saturday Nadia Bartel was dressed for comfort as she was spotted running errands in matching activewear.

The shamed former WAG, 36, cut a casual figure as she was pictured taking her sons to the park in St Kilda, Melbourne before visiting the local bakery.

Nadia looked relaxed and appeared makeup free dressed in a matching grey jumper and leggings, a far cry from the glamorous appearance she would have been invited to the cup celebrations this year.

She teamed up her activewear with a pair of red coloured New Balance sneakers and an oversized designer handbag.

While visiting the bakery, Nadia had her hands full carrying little Henley, three, while Aston, five, attempted to climb the counter display at the bakery.

The mother-of-two took safety precautions amid the global pandemic by wearing a face mask.

The sighting comes just days after a press release announcing Bartel as last year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival ambassador was been quietly deleted from the official Victoria Racing Club website.

The VRC had confirmed its partnership with the ‘businesswoman and fashion identity’ on October 3, 2020, with a gushing statement posted online.

But the page has since been taken down and any attempt to access it redirects users to a 404 Not Found error message.

Interestingly, traces of the web page can still be found on Google Search.

It can sometimes take months for inactive web pages to fall off search engine results, so this isn’t unusual.

A cached version of the press release can also still be accessed.

Nadia’s disappearing act on the VRC website coincides with fellow Melbourne WAG Jessie Murphy landing a plum gig with the Spring Racing Carnival.

Jessie, the wife of former Carlton captain Marc Murphy, has partnered with the organisation to promote the welfare of racehorses.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, she announced she will be highlighting the ‘initiatives and programs designed to keep the horses safe during and after racing’.

Nadia has had a spectacular fall from grace since she was busted snorting white powder at an illegal party during Melbourne’s lockdown on September 2.

She and three other women were each fined $5,452 after footage from the party was accidentally posted on Instagram by her friend and business partner Ellie Pearson.

But the most humiliating part of the scandal was seeing Nadia, once known for her impeccably clean-cut image, snorting the white substance off a $1.50 Kmart plate.

She wasn’t charged with drug offences, however, because Victoria Police couldn’t prove what she was snorting.

The Henne founder, who last year described the Cup as ‘the highlight of my year’, has been a fixture of the Birdcage enclosure for the past decade.

Year after year, Nadia and fellow WAGs Bec Judd and Kylie Brown have partied in the premium marquee where only celebrities and VIPs are allowed access.
