Nambour bus interchange assault: Man critical after horror attack at bus station north of Brisbane

A man is in hospital fighting for his life after an alleged assault at a rural bus station north of Brisbane.

The alleged attack happened near the near the Nambour bus interchange about 3pm on Sunday afternoon.

‘Emergency services were called to the Civic Way address at approximately 3.15pm to reports of a fight between two men, believed to be known to each other,’ a Queensland Police statement read.

‘Upon arrival, a 39-year-old man was located with serious head injuries.

‘He was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for treatment.’

It is understood the man alleged attacker fled the scene.

Nambour is a small town about 110km north of Brisbane.

Witnesses or anyone with information is urged to contact police.
