Nancy Pelosi lays blame on MAGA Republicans after Colorado gay nightclub shooting

Pelosi blames MAGA for Colorado gay club massacre: Points finger at Republicans for ‘undermining the safety’ of trans people after gunman, 22, killed FIVE… even though police have NOT confirmed it was a hate crime

  • Five people died when a 22-year-old opened fire at Club Q in Colorado Springs Saturday night, and 18 others were injured
  • ‘That fight remains more urgent than ever, as right-wing extremists target transgender Americans’ most fundamental rights and freedoms,’ Pelosi said
  • ‘MAGA Republicans are cruelly undermining the safety and well-being of our transgender community,’ she said
  • No motive has yet been determined for the attack

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi marked Transgender Remembrance Day by tearing into MAGA Republicans and implicating them in the Colorado LBGTQ night club shooting that left five dead overnight.

Five people died when a 22-year-old opened fire at Club Q in Colorado Springs Saturday night, and 18 others were injured.

‘As our nation marks Transgender Day of Remembrance, the House Democratic Caucus mourns the countless Americans stolen away by the scourge of transphobic violence, a crisis that continues to disproportionately harm trans people of color,’ Pelosi said in a statement.

Pelosi, who is stepping down from Democratic leadership in January, went on: ‘That fight remains more urgent than ever, as right-wing extremists target transgender Americans’ most fundamental rights and freedoms. Whether spouting dangerous rhetoric from cable news desks or openly bullying schoolchildren from the halls of power, MAGA Republicans are cruelly undermining the safety and well-being of our transgender community.’

‘As our nation marks Transgender Day of Remembrance, the House Democratic Caucus mourns the countless Americans stolen away by the scourge of transphobic violence, a crisis that continues to disproportionately harm trans people of color,’ Pelosi said in a statement

‘Horrified by such shameless bigotry, House Democrats are proud to march alongside our trans friends.’

No motive has yet been determined for the attack.

Authorities say Anderson Lee Aldrich entered the gay club just before midnight and fired an unknown number of bullets from his AR-15-style long rifle before he was stopped by at least two ‘heroic’ patrons.

Aldrich is now in protective custody at a local hospital for unknown injuries. The Colorado Springs man was previously arrested for making a bomb threat in June 2021.

Numerous victims, some in critical condition, were transported to three nearby hospitals. The medical facilities are currently working to notify families of their loved ones’ conditions..

GOP-led state legislatures have put fighting back against transgender activism front and center of the culture war frontier, launching legislation that keeps transgender boys out of girls’ sports, bills that require students to use the bathroom that aligns with their sex assigned at birth and policies that prevent teachers from talking about gender and sexuality in early elementary school.
