Naomi Campbell is a mum! Supermodel, 50, shares picture of newborn baby four years after saying ‘thanks to science she can become a parent whenever she wants’

Naomi Campbell, 50, has announced she is a mother, four years after crediting science with giving her the opportunity to start a family ‘whenever she wants’.

The supermodel shocked her Instagram followers on Tuesday as she shared a picture cradling a newborn and announced there is ‘no greater love’ that she could now feel.

She shared: ‘A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother.

‘So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love.’

The model then tagged her own mother, Valerie Morris-Campbell in the post, but gave no further details.

It comes after Naomi admitted that she would ‘think about having children all the time’ but wasn’t planning to rush herself to start a family.

Speaking to ES Magazine in 2017, she said: ‘I think about having children all the time. But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want.’

Asked if she would have the child herself rather than adopt, she replied: ‘Maybe. Maybe… Maybe.’

However, she insisted that she did not want to be a single parent so would find a suitable partner first.

She said: ‘I do want a father figure. I think it’s important. It’s the way I feel today, sitting here talking to you.’

Discussing the biological pressure women to have children, she added: ‘Now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want’.

She also did not rule out the possibility of adopting children.

She added to Metro: ‘I’ll see what the universe brings me. For now, what the universe has delivered is very much in the spirit of a ‘chosen family,” Campbell reflected.

Back in 2019, she announced that she was ‘not ready’ to have children at the age of 49.

Asked if she would have any, she said: ‘Not yet—I’ll see what the universe brings me.’
