Naomi Campbell, 51, cuts a glamorous figure in a plunging gold gown at the BET Awards

Naomi Campbell was a vision of glamour in a plunging gold gown as she took to the stage at Sunday’s BET Awards.

The model, 51, stunned in the eye-catching dress as she presented Best Male Hip-Hop Artist to Lil Baby at the star-studded event in LA’s Microsoft Theatre.

Naomi’s appearance at the awards comes weeks after she surprised fans with the news that she had welcomed a baby daughter, with sources later claiming the child was born with the help of a surrogate.

The BET Awards was the first event Naomi has attended since surprising fans with the news last month that she had welcomed a baby girl.

It comes after she revealed that she has ‘never felt so much love like I have over these past few weeks’ in a sweet Instagram post.

The new mum looked radiant as she took to social media last month to thank fans for all their ‘well wishes’ while surrounded by dozens of stunning flowers.

Naomi penned: ‘Never have I felt so much love like I have over these past few weeks, I am so thankful for the love that you’ve poured into me and my daughter.

‘Thank you all for the Warm messages of support and birthday wishes. Despite the challenging year we’ve all had, there has been so many blessings that I am beyond grateful and thankful for.

‘By Gods Grace we are almost at the light at the end of the tunnel, strength and perseverance Love, Naomi.’

Only recently, Naomi revealed she was listening to Bob Marley during the ‘special moment’ she became a mother for the first time.

The model shared the candid detail about her daughter’s birth on her YouTube series No Filter, saying: ‘Music is like… In my most special moments, you know I just became a mum, I had Bob Marley playing. That’s my roots, you know? It’s my roots.’

Last month, Naomi shared the news that she had become a mother for the first time after welcoming a baby girl.

Shortly after, the supermodel told fans she was ‘honoured and humbled’, amid claims she’s set to raise her daughter with her ‘secret American boyfriend’.

The model is said to have welcomed her baby via a surrogate, with unearthed pictures of the star taken three weeks before her baby’s arrival showing her out in New York City – where she now lives.

Naomi spoke about motherhood as she interviewed fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, 74, on her YouTube show.

Interacting with fans as her YouTube recording aired, Naomi wrote on the live stream chat: ‘Hello my darlings, thank you so much for the pre birthday wishes… and for my new chapter as a mother I’m honoured and humbled.’

A source previously told People that Naomi wanted to become a mother for over a decade, saying: ‘She’s wanted a baby for a long time, more than 10 years.’

The insider added: ‘Anyone who’s surprised Naomi is having a baby on her own, her own way, and on her own timetable doesn’t know Naomi Campbell. Hasn’t she redefined everything she’s ever touched?’

Friends have also told The Daily Mail that they believe Naomi – who never knew her father and was raised largely by her grandmother – used a surrogate.

Sources close to the model added to The Sun that Naomi is in a ‘wonderful place’ and how it finally felt like the ‘perfect time’ to become a parent.

The insider said: ‘Naomi has really mellowed in the past year and is in a wonderful place in life. She has been living in America with her boyfriend and is really happy. It finally felt like the perfect time to become a mother and she is over the moon.

‘The first lockdown allowed her to stop and take stock of the important things and she decided now was the time to properly look into starting a family.’

Naomi reportedly recently told her team that she wants to quit working over weekends, just weeks before making her baby announcement.

The star kept her baby news a secret from the public, but a handful of friends, family and fashion insiders were in the know.

Naomi announced the news on Instagram as she shared a picture of her newborn’s feet alongside the caption: ‘A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother.

‘So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you, my angel. There is no greater love.’

Naomi was last in a relationship with rapper Skepta in 2018 but enjoyed a fling with Liam Payne the following year.

She has also enjoyed high-profile relationships with the likes of Diddy, Robert De Niro, Mike Tyson and Russian billionaire Vladislav Doronin over the years.

Although she is notoriously private about her love life, Naomi has previously stated she is ‘on good terms’ with her exes and was not believed to be dating anyone new when she announces the arrival of her daughter.
