Natalie Portman appeared on Australia’s The Project on Tuesday night and shared her love of all things Down Under. 

The 43-year-old revealed that her children are such big fans of the country that she has to keep iconic Aussie yeast spread Vegemite stocked in her pantry. 

‘I would love to be (Australian)’ the American actress laughed when asked if she wasn’t secretly a citizen. 

‘My family is very obsessed with Australia. We love it a lot. I have to keep Vegemite in my house for my kids’. 

The Black Swan star shares her kids, son Aleph, 12, and daughter Amalia, 6, with her ex-husband, Benjamin Millepied. 

The star has been spending plenty of time in Australia over the last couple of years for various projects and filming commitments. 

Natalie, her former husband and their two children had relocated Down Under in September 2020 ahead of her filming Thor: Love and Thunder in Sydney. 

The family were also seen around Coogee beach in Sydney while spending time in Australia in 2022.

She even starred on Australian children’s show Bluey, lending her voice to an titled Whale Watching, where she narrated a whale documentary.

The popular ABC Kids series follows the adventures of ‘a loveable, inexhaustible six-year-old Blue Heeler dog (Bluey)’ along with her family, which includes her mum, dad and younger sister (Bingo), and her friends. 

‘I love Bluey. I did a voice for an episode. I wouldn’t go as far as to say starred. We’re big Bluey fans’ Natalie said on The Project. 

When it comes to sports, Natalie said she is a huge fan of Aussie women’s soccer team The Matildas.

Natalie is currently on the press circuit for her new movie, Lady in the Lake, and  made a striking arrival at the premiere in on Thursday night.

In the forthcoming AppleTV+ limited series, Portman plays Maddie Schwartz, a 60s housewife living in Baltimore who is stirred by an unsolved murder.
