Nathan Lyon’s ex-partner Mel Waring has put rumours of a bitterness to bed with a sweet snap showing their children preparing Father’s Day presents for the cricket star.
The mother-of-two shared a happy snap of daughter Milla painting a gift for her spin bowler father on Thursday afternoon.
The youngster used her creativity to decorate slabs of wood with pink, yellow, green and blue paint to generate a rainbow.
‘Painting Father’s Day gifts for daddy!’ Ms Waring wrote on the Instagram story.

Lyon is in England for the Ashes, with the fourth Test scheduled three days after Father’s Day.
In a follow-up post to her Instagram, Ms Waring shared a video of the couple’s other daughter dancing to music, with the caption ‘keeping me entertained since 2014’.
The Father’s Day arts and crafts session comes the day after Ms Waring slammed negative media reports about her relationship with Lyon – while recovering from a torn ACL.
Ms Waring said she has ‘never been happier’ despite recent articles claiming she was ‘gutted’ to see Lyon’s girlfriend trying on wedding dresses while overseas for the Ashes.
Eagle-eyed fans also noticed Lyon’s girlfriend of two years Emma McCarthy donned a ‘N’ necklace while dressing up in the glamorous white gowns with fellow WAGs.
Ms Waring decided to address the media storm on Wednesday afternoon, posting a picture of herself in ugg boats and on crutches to her Instagram story.

‘To all the lovely boring articles out about my now very old relationship amazingly I have better things to care about and I am happy to report I’m far from gutted,’ she wrote.
‘In fact, even with a torn ACL, I have never been happier.
‘Let’s not believe everything we read. It’s time to MOVE ON.’
Ms Waring also posted a selfie with her two daughters earlier in the week, amid reports of a rift within the WAG community.
‘The cat that got the cream looks like this,’ she wrote, adding the hashtags, ‘Couldn’t ask for more’, ‘Most important people,’ and ‘Little loves.’
The same phrase (‘The cat that got the cream’) was used by Woman’s Day to describe Ms McCarthy’s Instagram posts from the Ashes.

The Woman’s Day article began with the intro: ‘Wearing a figure-hugging $10,000 wedding gown and a killer smile, cricketer Nathan Lyon’s girlfriend Emma McCarthy looks like the cat that got the cream in photos sure to break Mel Waring’s heart all over again.’
Lyon’s decade long relationship with Ms Waring came crashing down when he was photographed passionately kissing Ms McCarthy in Perth, at the end of 2017.
Ms Waring said at the time she was left ‘devastated’ by seeing photos of her partner of ten years with the glamorous blonde.
Ms Waring later spoke candidly about her struggles to cope with the relationship breakdown in a series of posts on her blog, Life of Lyons.

‘We have lived a life where he has constantly travelled, cricket was life and touring was a given… it’s easy to forget,’ she wrote in March 2018.
‘Today has been different. I have been strong, I have been brave, but today I feel weak, I feel small and I feel alone.’
Ms Waring and Lyon’s relationship breakdown reportedly caused a rift between the WAGs, with many remaining loyal to Ms Waring, according to Woman’s Day.
‘I don’t think it’s surprising that after spending 10 years with Nathan, Mel built some very strong friendships with some of the other WAGs, who still support and love her,’ said a source.
‘I know they still find it hard to stomach Emma.’
