NBC executive Ron Meyer ‘is selling Malibu mansion for $125million’

NBC vice chairman Ron Meyer has put his Malibu mansion on the market for $125million, it has been reported.

The TV executive has not listed the property but is instead entertaining bids in private, agents handling the sale say.

The news comes less than two weeks after Meyer announced he is splitting from wife Kelly Chapman Meyer after 25 years of marriage.

The couple, who were dating for three years before getting married, said they had ‘grown apart’ after almost three decades together.

Ms Meyer is reportedly still living at the three-acre beach-front mansion alongside her husband, and the pair have not yet filed divorce papers.

Joyce Rey, an agent with Coldwell Banker which is handling the sale, told The Hollywood Reporter: ‘It’s not officially on the market, but they are entertaining offers.’

The property features a formal gated entry, a long driveway, a pool, a tennis court and several massive lawns.

Inside, there is 14,000sq ft of living space with five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The house also backs on to the ocean, sits atop its own private bluff and has step access to a private beach down below.

It also has a spot in TV history after causing a rift between Meyer and Michael Ovitz, his founding partner at CAA.

When Meyer announced he would be leaving CAA to join Universal, Ovitz bought the property because he knew Meyer had his eye on it.

The move was described as the ‘final straw’ and led to a rift between the men.

Years later, Ovitz admitted buying the property because he was ‘pi**ed off’ but said it had been a ‘huge mistake’.

The home is also regularly used for star-studded events, and just last week Meyer hosted an event for Chanel and the Natural Resources Defense Council.

The gala was attended by the likes of Barbra Streisand, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Courteney Cox, Priyanka Chopra, Jennifer Meyer, Mandy Moore, Cindy Crawford and Josh Brolin.
