During his swearing in ceremony, Chief Jeff O’Dell had Enzo promise to ‘be a good boy, always love my parents, always love other policemen, always do my best, always have my badge with me, and will always be good to the best of my ability.’

His uncle’s picture was behind him.

The adorable clip ended with a handshake and Enzo running off to hug his parents.

The officers got into an altercation as they were on patrol in Kissimmee, in an area with a history of drug activity, according to authorities.

Police Chief Jeff O’Dell said Saturday that former Marine Everett Glenn Miller, 45, was arrested several hours after the shootings. He has been charged with first-degree murder.

During a patrol of the area south of Orlando’s theme park hub, Baxter and Howard got into a scuffle with Miller, who shot them, the police chief said.

The officers did not have an opportunity to return fire.

Sgt. Howard was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center and died the next day. He was with the force for ten years.
