Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned Kanye West for his anti-Semitic tweets and declaration of war on the Jewish community.
Speaking with Bill Maher on Friday night’s Real Time, Israel’s leader scoffed when the talk show host asked him if he would ‘retaliate’ against West for his tweets.
West’s Twitter account was suspended last week after he tweeted: ‘I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.’
Netanyahu dismissed the tweets and said they were just a part of a long history of hate that the Jewish community has had to endure.
‘Antisemitism is the longest hatred in history,’ he said. ‘It goes back thousands of years. We’ve dealt with bigger problems than these stupidities.’
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed Kanye West for his anti-Semitic rant on social media, noting the Jewish state has more important concerns than ‘these stupidities’
West (left, with Candace Owens on Wednesday) posted several anti-Semitic statements on Twitter and Instagram last week, causing him to be suspended on both platforms
The most alarming tweet declared war on the Jewish community, which the Israeli prime minister scoffed at, calling it yet another example of someone blaming Jewish people
The prime minister noted that West, 45, was simply blaming his problems on Jewish people, which he said was emblematic of anti-Semitism around the world.
‘You know, the communists blame the Jews for being capitalists, the capitalists blame the Jews for being communists. You have a problem, blame the Jews,’ he told Maher.
‘It’s old stuff. It shouldn’t have any place in civilized discourse.
‘That’s the reason we established the Jewish State—so the Jewish people would have defense against these absurdities, and sometimes they’re coupled with violence. We don’t let that happen again.’
It was the latest rebuke against West, who along with his ‘death con’ message tweeted: ‘The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also. You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.’
His renewed attack on Jewish people came just a day after sharing screenshots on Instagram revealing messages sent to Diddy in which West accused the fellow rapper of being controlled by Jewish people trying to silence his ‘White Lives Matter’ message.
The post resulted in his Instagram account being suspended.
West reportedly told Diddy that ‘Jewish people told you to call me’ and that they were not going to ‘threaten or influence me’
In the text exchange, Sean ‘Didddy’ Combs tries to get West to stop sporting shirts emblazoned with White Lives Matter.
‘I’m trying to talk to you as a black man. And I’m talking to you because this is hurting our people. Stop.’
West replied: ‘Anything you text I will post.’ The rapper and fashion mogul kept his word, posting the entire exchange to his 18 million followers.
The series of texts ended with West accusing Combs of being controlled by Jewish people – an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory.
‘This ain’t a game. Ima use you as an example to show the Jewish people that told you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me,’ West wrote his friend.
He reportedly captioned the post of the text exchange ‘Jesus is Jew.’ The American Jewish Committee has since condemned West, saying his post was ‘dangerous.’
Netanyahu also went on to criticize allegations that the Jewish state was ‘massacring Palestinians,’ and conducting an ‘ethnic cleansing’
Along with rebuking Kanye, Netanyahu also slammed allegations Maher read of Israel, claiming the Jewish state was ‘massacring Palestinians,’ and conducting an ‘ethnic cleansing.’
‘I mean, these are ridiculous charges against the one democracy in the Middle East,’ the Israeli prime minister said. ‘The one democracy that upholds human rights, that defends freedom, and is America’s best ally.
‘So, I think these people should wake up to reality, but I think that’s far too great a hope. It’s not gonna happen.
‘This is fake old news. It goes back thousands of years. We’re not impressed by it.’
