Fan-favorite series The Terror has dropped on Netflix in the US viewers have called it ‘absolutely brilliant’

‘Just finished The Terror on Netflix and loved it — highly recommended if you enjoy high-seas drama, There Will Be Blood-type villains, icebergs, and spooky s**t,’ one user wrote.

‘THE TERROR on Netflix is peak Dude TV. Old wooden ships. Historical non-fiction. A scary monster that doesn’t “represent society.” Acting heavyweights up and down including Tobias Menzies playing an actual hero.

‘That good good AMC product. That icky strain of sub-prestige TV,’ a user posted to X, previously known as as Twitter.

‘I watched The Terror on Netflix and god damn I still love it. Great British period drama series. I have a hankering for more Arctic expedition media!’ another gushed.

‘If you guys haven’t watched The Terror on Netflix you need to. Kinda slow burning supernatural thriller/horror. They only have season one on there, cus it’s not a Netflix show, but the second season is unrelated and even better,’ added another.

‘Absolutely brilliant. Don’t watch if you’re not in the mood to be terrified,’ another fan advised.

The first season of the captivating series is loosely based on the real story of two British explorations who set off by ship in 1845, only to disappear three years later in the Arctic and were never seen again – although wreckages from the ships were found in 2014 and 2016, and historians are unsure what happened to the inhabitants of the ships.

It follows the fictional journeys of the British Royal Navy’s polar explorer ships, HMS Erebus and HMS Terror, as they attempt to navigate the Northwest Passage.
