The mystery Netflix subscriber who has watched children’s film Bee Movie more than 300 times has been revealed as a British mother and her 10-month old son.

Gemma Chalmers has fessed up to being Europe’s most prolific ‘re-watcher’ of a film in 2017, claiming baby Jaxson throws tantrums when the cartoon is not on the TV.

Streaming giant Netflix sent social media into a fever pitch after it revealed that a UK user had viewed the animated film Bee Movie 357 times in 365 days.

Ms Chalmers, 29, said friends were quick to alert her to the post, telling her: ‘This has to be you.’

She told The Sun: ‘We’ve watched it multiple times a day to keep him happy.

‘He watches the film from the moment he wakes up until he goes to sleep at night. I know every word of that film. I am completely fed-up with it.

‘We’ve tried Trolls, Cars and other Disney films,’ Ms Chalmers added. ‘But nothing works like the Bee Movie.’

Jaxson, who lives with his mother in Peterhead, Scotland, first became obsessed with the film after he grandmother put it on to stop him from crying. 

The Bee Movie was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the 2007 Golden Globe Awards, although the picture was by no means a blockbuster hit.

Other data released by the streaming service revealed that Greenleaf, a series about a family and their sprawling megachurch in Memphis, was the most ‘devoured’ show in the UK in 2017 – meaning the programme had been watched for more than two hours per day.

Spoof true crime drama American Vandal was the second most popular show.

Netflix also revealed the shows fans were most likely to watch ahead of their viewing partners.

Orange Is The New Black was the show most likely to make viewers cheat on their significant other, followed by Stranger Things, Narcos, 13 Reasons Why and Star Trek: Discovery.

Riverdale, Marvel’s Iron Fist, Ozark, Better Call Saul and The Crown also prompted fans to cheat and watch ahead.
