New documentary reveals words said by a son to his father before they robbed banks in Texas

Hayden Catt, who gained notoriety for robbing banks with his father, while his sister was the getaway driver, has spoken in an exclusive interview about life behind bars and his past.

Ronald ‘Scott’ Catt shocked his community in 2012 when police apprehended him in Texas for robbing two banks of $108,000 with his son, Hayden, 20, while his daughter, Abby drove the getaway car.

On the morning of the first robbery, Hayden Catt said he asked his dad, ‘Are you the devil here to tempt me?’ to which his dad replied, ‘probably.’

Scott Catt was sentenced to 24 years, while Hayden Catt was sentenced to 10 years. Abby was sentenced to five years in county jail. She was released after nearly three years due to good behavior.

In 2013 all three accepted plea deals for aggravated robbery.

A two-hour ’20/20′ documentary from ABC to be aired on June 28 unravels the details behind the heists and speaks to both Hayden and Abby about the parts they played nearly seven years on.

‘My dad sat us down and told us what our jobs were and that you had to be the best at your job,’ Abby Catt says in the documentary.

Scott Catt committed the robberies following the death of his wife. He was facing financial difficulties partially caused because of drug and alcohol addiction.
