New images claim to show 6.1-inch iPhone XL and purported SE 2 handset with smaller notch

A new set of renders claim to show what Apple’s rumored, affordable iPhone could look like.

Speculation has been building for several months that the tech giant is poised to release a new 6.1-inch model that includes many of the same features as the 10th anniversary iPhone X, but has a cheaper price tag.

A report from OnLeaks and MySmartPrice shows off renders of the rumored device, based on information that’s surfaced in recent months.

The 6.1-inch model is expected to feature an LCD display, an aluminum band and a single-lens camera, in order to keep costs down.

However, it will retain the iPhone X’s edge-to-edge screen and notch design.

If it has a 6.1-inch display, it will mark Apple’s largest iPhone yet.

The device would be slightly larger than the iPhone X’s dimensions, with rumors suggesting that it would measure up at 150.9mm x 76.5mm.

It could also have a cheaper price point at just $550 (£550) vs. the $999 (£999) iPhone X.

Longtime Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, who has correctly predicted the firm’s moves in the past, believes a 6.1-inch iPhone may be on the way that has many of the same features as the iPhone X but features a cheaper price point.

Additionally, new images have surfaced that purportedly show off what could be Apple’s iPhone SE 2.

Noted smartphone leaker Sonny Dickson posted photos on Friday of a supposed iPhone SE 2 screen protector.

It seems to show a notch design that’s similar to the one on the iPhone X.

This means that the iPhone SE 2 could also get advanced features like facial recognition or augmented reality technology.

It follows a separate report that showed renders of the supposed iPhone SE 2.

In the renders, the headphone jack was removed in order to make way for more advanced features like a notch design.

Others have suggested that the SE 2 will be 4.7 inches long and 2.1 inches wide.

That would make it slightly smaller than the current SE model, except with a larger display.

The notch would also be smaller than the one used in the iPhone X.

However, skeptics have noted that it would require some delicate handiwork by Apple to fit all of Face ID’s components into the notch.

Another set of images leaked in April that claimed to show the iPhone SE 2.

The photos show a device that looks like an iPhone SE, except with a glass back for wireless charging.

WHAT ARE THE 2018 iPHONE RUMOURS SO FAR?

Apple has yet to unveil the iPhone 8, but the latest rumours of its 2018 smartphone have already hit the web.

In August rumours from the supply chain said the iPhone 9 will be available in two sizes, including one with a massive screen that would be Apple’s biggest yet.

The ‘Plus’ size will reportedly have a 6.46-inch screen and will be sold alongside a smaller 5.85-inch model in a bid to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Note.

The leak came from a source within Samsung Display, the sole OLED supplier for the upcoming iPhones.

The source also said the smaller version was originally going to be a 5.28-inch model but that the firm upped it to 5.85 inches because of growing consumer demand for bigger-screen phones.

A recent Apple leak suggested the firm could cancel the iPhone X.

An analyst says the new model’s disappointing sales could lead to the phone being cancelled – with production stopping as soon as this summer.

This could be the first time Apple has cancelled a phone model since the iPhone 5C in 2014.

Experts believe the lack of interest in the phone is largely due to the notch, which many potential Chinese customers believe removes too much space on the screen.

Now, Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities says Apple will release three new iPhone models including a slightly cheaper 6.1-inch phone without 3D touch.

It could also release an updated iPhone X with a 5.8-inch OLED screen and a larger 6.5-inch OLED model, potentially called the iPhone X Plus.

The 6.1-inch phone will feature an aluminium frame similar to the iPhone 8 and the display will be an LCD panel instead of OLED, he predicted.

The 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus will have similar specifications as the current design but an OLED display and 4GB of RAM, he predicts.

The 4-inch handset has developed a niche following since it was first launched in 2016.

However, Apple hasn’t updated the device since its release two years ago.

It has led many to believe that Apple is gearing up to release a second version of its popular budget phone.

The leaked images, which were first published by 9to5Mac, show what may end up being the iPhone SE 2.

The device appears to have an aluminum case and a back panel that’s made of glass, in order to support wireless charging.
