A New York City jogger was spotted taking the shoes off his feet and giving them to a homeless man, before walking away barefoot.
Twitter user @NYorNothing posted a video of the moment, which she happened to witness while riding in a cab in downtown Manhattan at about 9am Sunday, on the social media platform.
The video shows a barefoot man in a red t-shirt and black shorts, standing next to a second man who is seated on the sidewalk. They two men appear to have a quick chat, before the standing man walks off.

The homeless man could be seen examining the sneakers and seemingly trying them on
Twitter user @NYorNothing said the moment occurred Sunday at about 9am in Manhattan
The seated man — which the Twitter user claimed is homeless — can be seen pulling towards him and examining a pair of sneakers, then appears to try them on.
NYorNothing accompanied the video with a tweet, stating that ‘It was 9am in the WTC area, I watched as a jogger took off his sneakers, gave them to a homeless man, & walked the NYC streets barefoot.’
She added the quote, ‘Our character is what we do when we think nobody is looking.’
Although she didn’t catch the moment when the jogger took off his sneakers, she confirmed that she did see him do that exact thing.
Twitter user @NYorNothing said she first thought that the jogger was taking off his shoes so that he could retrieve money to give to the homeless man
‘I assumed he was taking his sock off because he had money in it,’ the woman told PIX11.
NYorNothing tweeted that the incident took place outside of the Century 21 department store near the World Trade Center site and that she hoped the jogger ‘didn’t have a long walk home barefoot.’
The jogger and the homeless man have not yet been identified.
