The New York Knicks and owner James Dolan have become well known for making headlines in recent years whether good or bad and it appears they’ve found a way to make another one.

The new section will now take up the first and second rows where media members and game officials would normally sit, giving fans a premium view of the action.

‘New York Knicks courtside seats are located right next to the scorer’s table and an arms-length away from the players on the floor.

‘The best Knicks courtside seats are described as Scorer’s Table Seats and fill out the sideline on either side of the scorer’s table,’ according to Knicksseatingchart.com

This would appear to be a work around to the Knicks not raising ticket prices this year, something Dolan refuses to do following years the team doesn’t make the playoffs… One of the very few things Knicks fans approve of him doing.

The New York Rangers on the other hand, whom did make the playoffs last season will indeed be raising on the other hand.  The Rangers made it to the Eastern Conference Finals before losing the series 4-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightening.

Madison Square Garden Sports on Thursday reported both  the Knicks and Rangers are now at a 91% season ticket renewal rate and rising.

Either way the Knicks still brought in an average of $2.99 million in gate receipts per game.

This was good enough for third in the NBA so New York will should have no problem selling tickets. No matter how highly priced they may be.
