New York man buries vodka underground for Electric Zoo

A concert goer who attended Electric Zoo’s festival in New York was determined to get his money’s worth when he buried alcohol under the ground at the site three weeks before the event.

Alex decided to stash a bottle of vodka hidden in a water bottle at Randall’s Island ahead of the actual concert so he could dig it up once he arrived.

His fascination for pirates and burying treasure was the key to cultivating this plan, according to LADbible.

The innovative concert goer said that he and his friends were intrigued to see if they could ‘bury treasure without it being disturbed’.

Alex went on to say: ‘I’ve been going to Electric Zoo for over four years now so I know the layout very well.

‘The planning of the burial was simple. We used Google maps and marked our spot on GPS so we knew where it would be. Then we waited.’

The initial part of their plan was allegedly easy, however Alex admitted they ran into a little trouble once inside the festival.

He said their next challenge was to try and retrieve the vodka without being caught by staff, security guards or CCTV cameras.

‘It was a bit of an operation but in the end we got through it,’ he admitted.

‘The objective once we got into the festival was to remove the bottle without attracting attention. The hardest part was trying not to raise any suspicions because there’s quite a lot of cameras and festival staff around.’

‘Once we got to the GPS spot, we all huddled around it. I did a double take to make sure we were in the clear and then one of us dug up the vodka.’

‘All in all, it took us about 10 minutes,’ he concluded.

Alex posted images from the festival, which of course then went viral.

It’s now led to a successful business venture with him now writing a book spilling all his festival secrets, due to be available in 2018.
