New York man wears glasses that help him see colors

It is nice to see the world in living color.

A video posted in June 2016, Benjamin Rein can be seen sporting the new pair of glasses that will help him see color for the first time in front of his home in Buffalo, New York.

Rein was color blind from childhood and was looking forward to buying color-correcting contacts for his graduation.

In the clip, Rein stands outside with his parents and proceeds to put on his Enchroma glasses

‘Supposedly going to see color for the first time,’ he said while his mother films.

When he puts them on, it is clear that the experience is slightly overwhelming for him.

He said: ‘My eyes don’t know what to do. It looks like regular but different.’

And while his parents excitingly point out different colors for him to look at, Rein is focused on soaking it all in.

‘I can see all the colors in your shirt,’ he said to his mom who can’t contain her joy.

But then Rein looks closer at his parents and notice that they too look different.

‘You look more tan than usual,’ he said to his dad before looking at himself.

‘I look like a different color.’

But the thing that surprises him the most; street signs.

Rein added: ‘Wow oh my god, street signs are a totally different color than I always thought.’

And soon he starts to adjust to the different shades and hues around him, going about feeling on different objects to observe their colors.

He and his parents start looking at lawns, noticing who has the greenest lawn. He turns towards his house and observe more of the plants.

‘It’s funny because I am seeing new colors and I don’t know what they are,’ said Rein as he feels on purple lilac flowers.
