New Zealand woman who lost 92kg hits back at trolls

A 26-year-old woman who dramatically lost more than half her body weight has hit back at cruel trolls for criticising her excess skin.

Simone Anderson, from New Zealand, had undergone nine hours of cosmetic surgery to remove her loose skin after she shed 92 kilograms.

And since then, the lifestyle influencer – who tipped the scales at 170 kilograms – has been bombarded with the same offensive questions on a daily basis.

‘If you have had skin removal surgery then why do you still have loose skin?’

Taking to Instagram, the young woman slammed the body shamers, saying: ‘It would be near impossible to get a “perfect” stomach even after skin removal surgery.

‘Different angles and different positions make massive changes to your bodies appearance,’ she wrote to nearly 250,000 of her followers.

‘While sitting slouched most people will get some form of roll going on. There is nothing wrong with this… embrace it.’

Another remark she received included: ‘You must be so unhappy with your body and results seeing you still have skin on your stomach even after surgery.’

However, Simone, who hails from Auckland, had a different take on her body after having surgery.

She had the fillers to tighten the ‘loose skin’ on her face.

‘After losing 92kg I am covered in lose [sic] skin and one place that I don’t think many people would even think it would occur is the face,’ she said previously.

‘My cheeks sagged leaving me with big indent lines around my nose to mouth which is also something that can happen as you age and your skin loses the elasticity.’

Speaking previously to FEMAIL about her top tips for losing weight and keeping it off, Ms Anderson said: ‘I like to spend a couple of hours each Sunday planning what meals I want for the week, then going food shopping and finally prepping meals and snacks’.

‘I [also] find if I am well hydrated then it also makes a huge difference in my energy levels,’ she said.

‘Ensuring I have good healthy and easy snacks on hand means it helps choose a healthy option over something that is unhealthy or more convenient.’

She also recommended small daily changes – such as changing a catch-up such as a glass of wine to a walk and a smoothie – as the best way to achieve your goals.
