A 37-year-old tattooist and ‘body modifier’ has been arrested over the alleged genital mutilation of a 33-year-old woman.
The man was arrested at his home on the NSW Central Coast on Tuesday morning and taken for questioning.
Police said a woman visited the man at his workplace in Newcastle West for a body modification procedure during 2016.
Shortly afterwards, the woman made a formal complaint about the modifications which allegedly left her mutilated.

The man was taken to Gosford Police Station to speak with police
Police have been investigating the incident since the woman made the complaint, and on Tuesday morning swooped in and arrested the man at home in Terrigal.
The man was taken to Gosford Police Station to speak with police.
Body modification is not legislated in NSW however members of the ‘Skin Penetration industry’ are required to follow public health regulations.
