A newlywed was jailed today after going on a vodka-fuelled rampage on a plane during which he groped a stewardess and swore at passengers.

Mohammed Razaq, 29, groped one flight attendant and threatened another that he would ‘burn her like Guy Fawkes’ during the 4,500-mile Emirates flight from Dubai to Manchester on March 17, last year.

He was jailed for 18 months today after he pleaded guilty to drunkenness on an aircraft, affray, sexual assault and criminal damage at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester.

Razaq, from Burnley, also told male passengers to ‘Go f*** their mothers’ during the rampage after fearing a frosty reception from his family in Britain when he married a woman they disapproved of in his native Pakistan.

During the nightmare journey from Dubai, Razaq groped the stewardess as she was bending down to pick up rubbish.

Mohammed Razaq, 29, (pictured) was previously seen laughing as he left Manchester Magistrates Court. On Thursday he was jailed for 18 months after a vodka-fuelled rampage on a plane during which he groped a stewardess

He told a steward, ‘come on and punch me and I’ll knock your f****** head off’ and punched a seat with such force he bent the headrest, causing £200 of damage.

He also told the aircraft’s female cabin manager: ‘I will bite your nose and ears off and burn you like Guy Fawkes’ before he pulled out an unlit cigarette and pestering other passengers for a light.

He kept asking for more alcohol before eventually passing out in his seat. When the 500-seater plane landed in Manchester police arrested Razaq.

The hostess he groped said: ‘It took me some time to feel confident on my next flight. It will take some time to forget that feeling.’

Her colleague added: ‘I can honestly say it was the worst experience that I have encountered working for Emirates for the last seven years.’

Razaq had spent three weeks in Pakistan and had been drinking heavily in the airport out of ‘sorrow’ because his parents didn’t like his new bride, the court heard.

Lisa Boocock, prosecuting, said: ‘Once on the flight he consumed alcohol at an alarming rate until he began to visibly sway in his seat and became more and more intimidating to passengers around him.

‘At around three hours into the flight, the cabin crew decided to stop serving him alcohol.

‘After this he tried to get other passengers to get him alcohol but this was to no avail.’
