  • He has now linked up with his Brazil teammates before they head to Chile for the Copa America tournament
  • Brazil’s first game of the tournament is on June 14 against Peru

Brazilian striker Neymar appeared to be in relaxed mood on Tuesday as he met up with his fellow Brazil squad members before heading to Chile for the Copa America.

After speaking to team manager Dunga, Neymar shared a joke with Filipe Luis, David Luiz and Robinho, amongst others.

The South American tournament begins on June 11 with the hosts taking on Ecuador, and Brazil’s first game is against Peru on June 14, at the Estadio Municipal German Becker, Temuco.

Neymar, who netted 39 goals in 51 games for Barcelona in 2014-2015, will be hoping to continue his brilliant form and propel Brazil to the cup, at the expense of his club teammate Lionel Messi’s Argentina, who are tournament favourites.

At just 23, the popular striker, who has scored 43 goals in 62 games for Brazil, has already become his country’s virtual talisman, and so his teammates had more than one reason to be excited to see him in fine fettle.

Brazil are now under the guidance of manager Dunga, who returned to the helm in 2014 to replace the humbled Luis Felipe Scolari, after a previous stint as head coach between 2006 and 2010.

Brazil have won the Copa America eight times – in 1919, 1922, 1949, 1989, 1997, 1999, 2004 and 2007, while Uruguay won the most recent finals in 2011.
