Neymar has asked to make a return to Barcelona this summer, following a mixed spell in French football with Paris Saint Germain.

The Brazilian has won trophies but has failed to become the leading player in European football with the Parisians and fire them to Champions League glory, and is now reported to be considering a switch.

Neymar has made an offer to his former club Barca regarding an emotional return to the Nou Camp with the Spanish giants open to the possibility, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish publication Sport ran with the headline ‘Neymar on the table’ on Thursday morning, and detailed how Barca wish to discuss their options.

The report goes on to state however that the Catalan side are fully aware that their situation in regards to PSG is a tricky one.

Both teams have harboured poor relations ever since the initial Neymar deal, which saw the Ligue 1 side activate the Brazilian’s huge £198million release clause in light of Barca’s unwillingness to sell.

Barca had previously irked the Parisians in return, with their dogged pursuit of midfielder Marco Verratti, which led to the Italian telling the club he wished to leave.

PSG however remain unlikely to resist all rival attempts to sign Neymar, after wonderkid Kylian Mbappe recently dropped a hint that he is ready to leave the club.

Speaking upon winning Ligue 1 Player of the Year, Mbappe said: ‘This is a very important moment for me, I am arriving at maybe the first or second turning point in my career.

‘I have learned so much here, and I feel it’s maybe the time to have more responsibility.

‘Maybe at PSG, that would give me great pleasure, or maybe elsewhere for a new project.’
