Jack Jones has pleaded not guilty to gun charges at a court appearance in Boston on Tuesday.

The New England Patriots cornerback, 25, was arrested on Friday evening at Boston’s Logan Airport after two guns were found inside carry-on luggage, Massachusetts State Police said.

But he has posted $30,000 for bail and his next court case will be August 18.

‘All Mr. Jones wants to do is play football,’ his lawyer, Rosemary C. Scapicchio, said according to Boston Globe.

‘He doesn’t want to be a distraction at all. He had no intention of bringing any guns onto an airport that day and I expect that the evidence is going to show that he had no knowledge of what was going on.’

Jones has posted his bail and is now expected to appear in court next on August 18

Jones is facing charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a large-capacity feeding device and possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, police said.

Speaking to the Boston Globe, a spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said, ‘If [Jones] were convicted and sentenced consecutively on each charge, he’d face more than 30 years in prison.’

A fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Jones appeared in 13 games (two starts) as a rookie last season and had 30 tackles, two interceptions, six passes defensed and one fumble recovery.

He returned an interception against Aaron Rodgers 40 yards for a touchdown in New England’s 27-24 overtime loss at Green Bay in Week 4.

‘We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today,’ the Patriots said in a statement on Saturday.

‘We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time.’
