Nick Kyrgios’ shocks with hard-partying confession as he admits to drinking 17 shots a night

Tennis ‘bad boy’ Nick Kyrgios has lifted the lid on his love for hard partying, admitting that he’s known to drink up to 17 alcoholic shots a night.

Speaking on his No Boundaries podcast, the Australian athlete, 26, said it’s ‘no secret’ that partying is a ‘big hobby’ for him, especially when it comes to hitting the clubs in New York.

‘Honestly, when I think of New York I get scared because I can’t walk for three days after I go out,’ he admitted.

Kyrigos, who is preparing to play in the Australian Open in Melbourne this month,  admitted he usually drinks ’15 to 17′ alcoholic shots on a night out.

‘I just love [doing shots], like, I just love it. I genuinely have a passion for it, like I love sinking them. They make me feel so good. I mean look, I probably do drink a bit too much but I just love sending them with the boys.’

The sportsman also recalled one particularly raucous bender in Acapulco, Mexico, where he drank so much champagne that he ‘couldn’t even see straight’.

‘I had like three cigars in my mouth and it was monumental,’ he mused.

However, Kyrgios did admit he sometimes struggles to strike a balance between his love for partying and his high-flying tennis career.

‘There are times when I just want to enjoy myself,’ he insisted.
