Veteran Hollywood star Nick Nolte has, at the age of 76, finally got his star on the Walk of Fame.
The three-time Oscar nominee was honored at a special ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard on Monday.
He was joined by his son Brawley, 31, and daughter Sophie, 10, along with other extended family members.

Nolte was sharply dressed in a black two-piece suit with a crisp white shirt and gold tie.
He sported a bushy white beard and a good head of hair.
Fame came somewhat late in life for the Nebraska-born actor who was 35 when he was cast in thew 1976 ABC miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man which brought him an Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actor.
He went on to star in the big screen comedies 48 Hours and Down and Out in Beverly Hills, the sexy thriller The Deep and the film adaptation of John Steinbeck’s classic cannery Row.

Nolte was first nominated for an Academy Award for his leading role in The Prince of Tides, opposite Barbra Streisand who also directed the 1991 feature. He starred as a troubled man who falls in love with his sister’s psychiatrist.
He received a second best actor Oscar nod for his portrayal of a small-town New Hampshire police officer in the 1997 film Affliction.
He was nominated again, this time in a supporting role, for the 2011 drama Warrior in which he played the father of battling brothers.

Acclaimed: Nolte has been nominated three times for an Academy Award during his 50-year career – twice in the best actor category and once in the supporting actor category

In a short speech at the walk of fame event, Nolte told the crowd gathered to see him: ‘There’s a reason why this street and this town is such a center to the United States and to the world, the center of filmmaking.’
‘That’s because they honored the street with these stars along the way, and that’s unlike any other street in LA.’
Gavin O’Connor, who directed Warrior, described the actor as ‘humble’ but ‘crazy to the bone’ and ‘a master of his craft.’
‘As an actor, Nick has one of the greatest listeners’ ears I’ve ever witnessed, and a voice that sounds like he swallowed a bag of nails,’ O’Connor said.
Nolte currently stars in the Epix comedy Graves.
