Nicole Kidman must have left most of her finger jewelry at home for Sunday night’s Golden Globes.
The Hollywood star was lampooned for clapping ‘like a seal’ at the Oscars last year, something she later attributed to not wanting to damage the very expensive diamond rings she was wearing.
The actress, 50, was caught on camera at the Globes standing up and clapping her hands ‘normally’ with her fingers bent and hitting her palms as her Big Little Lies co-star Alexander Skarsgard won an award.

It was very different from the way she kept her fingers at an odd angle as she put her lower palms together at the Academy Awards in February 2017.
And eagle-eyed viewers of Sunday’s awards show on NBC took to Twitter to congratulate Kidman.
‘Did everyone see that?,’ tweeted one user. ‘Nicole Kidman was clapping NORMALLY.’
Another Twitter user observed: ‘Nicole Kidman is doing a great job clapping normal tonight.’

Kidman also won a prize Sunday night for her star turn in HBO’s Big Little Lies, and also showed she learned something else.
And this time, unlike at the Emmys in September, the actress’s first action upon hearing her name called out at the Golden Globes was to leap to her feet and enthusiastically embrace her husband Keith Urban.
The star had come in for scrutiny when she won at the Emmys after she took her co-star Alexander Skarsgard’s face in her hand and kissed him on the lips as Urban had looked on.

This time around, though, there was no mistaking who had all of Kidman’s attention and affection.
She dedicated her Golden Globe for best performance by an actress in a TV movie or miniseries to her two daughters with the country music singer, Sunday and Faith.
And she concluded her thank you speech with a sweet shout out to her husband of 11 years, telling him: ‘When my cheek is against yours, everything else melts away and that is love. It’s true, I love you so much.’
In between mentioning her daughters and her husband, Kidman, 50, thanked a long list of people including her Big Little Lies co-stars, her management, agents and publicists and her mother whom she described as a trailblazer who had made sure she and her sister Antonia had every opportunity to succeed.
However, notably absent was any mention of her older children Connor and Isabella, the children she shared with her former husband Tom Cruise.
