Nicole Kidman has revealed one of the ‘most painful’ parts of her work lately has been not being able to bring her children with her to set.
The actress, 54, recently filmed new series Nine Perfect Strangers and couldn’t bring her daughters Sunday, 13, and Faith, ten, and with her because of Covid-19 protocols.
Speaking to Radio Times, the Big Little Lies star explained she usually brings her kids, who she shares with husband Keith Urban, 53, with her to work regularly.

She said: ‘You just couldn’t bring children to set with all of the protocols in place, but I usually have them with me a lot.
‘They watch the filming and they are sometimes in the show, but there have been strict rules during the pandemic and it didn’t happen. That’s been one of the most painful parts of the work recently.’
Nicole is also mother to Isabella ‘Bella’, 28, and Connor, 26, who she adopted with her ex-husband Tom Cruise.
The actress rarely speaks about her adult children in interviews, however she did discuss their decision to join their father’s religion of Scientology during a past interview with Vanity Fair.

She said: ‘They are adults. The are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them.
‘And I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe – that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here.
‘I think that’s so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family – I believe it’s wrong. So that’s our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love.’
Nicole and Tom were married from 1990 to 2001 while the actress tied the knot with Keith in 2006.

Nine Perfect Strangers is Nicole’s latest TV role following the success of Big Little Lies and The Undoing, with the actress lauding the ‘incredible’ power of the medium.
She told Radio Times: ‘I grew up watching TV with my parents, curled up on the sofa watching Bewitched and The Brady Bunch.
‘I have very fond memories of being in front of the TV as a kid, but there weren’t a lot of mini-series when I was growing up. At some point, I remember seeing Roots and I was really amazed.
‘That’s probably the first show that really moved me, although there was also a series in Australia called Against The Wind, which was another one of those powerful stories. I love the way TV can really move you. The power of TV is incredible.’

Nine Perfect Strangers centres around nine people who go on a ten-day retreat at a wellness resort and discover secrets about themselves and the resort host Masha, played by Nicole.
The series is based on the novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty, who also wrote Big Little Lies.
Although she is best known for her Hollywood film career, Nicole said many of her earliest roles back in her native Australia where on TV and she feels like she has come ‘full circle’ since returning to the small screen.
