Nicole Kidman rushes home after tragic loss of friend

It’s been a month of tragedy and triumph for Nicole Kidman.

After winning her first Emmy for her role in acclaimed series Big Little Lies, the 50-year-old is rushing home to Australia after a sad loss of a family friend.

According to The Daily Telegraph on Thursday, Nicole is rearranging her busy schedule to head Down Under to attend the funeral of parish priest Father Paul Coleman.

The publication reports Nicole had known the 90-year-old priest, who died on Monday, since she was 12 after he met the actress’ parents at her confirmation.

Paul remained close to the Kidman family and even played a key part in Nicole’s wedding to country music star Keith Urban.

The funeral is set to be held at St Mary’s Church, North Sydney next Thursday.

It’s been a huge few weeks for Nicole as her already massively successful career in Hollywood continued to shine.

Winning the best lead actress gong for Big Little Lies at Emmy almost two weeks ago, the Australian native took to the stage to thank her husband and their kids.

‘I have a huge artistic family who supported me throughout all my ups and downs,’ she gushed.

‘You have been so loyal to me throughout my whole life thank you for that.’

However her accolades weren’t the only thing involving Nicole to make headlines after the Emmys.

The star shocked viewers when she kissed her on-screen husband Alexander Skarsgård on the lips when he won his own award.

As he left the Emmys stage after accepting the Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in a limited series or movie, Nicole fondly planted a smooch on her co-star while her husband Keith looked on behind her.
