She’s the celebrity chef best known for her relaxed approach to cooking.

But Nigella Lawson, 58, seemed decidedly uncomfortable during an interview with Sunrise’s Samantha Armytage and David Koche this Tuesday.

During the interview, Nigella appeared a tad unsure about the line of questioning after Samantha brushed off her heartfelt speech about eating a balanced diet.

That’s no way to butter her up! Nigella Lawson, 58, seemed decidedly uncomfortable during an interview with Sunrise’s Samantha Armytage and David Koche this Tuesday

The interaction began when David ‘Kochie’ Koch complimented Nigella on her refreshingly honest love of ‘naughty’ foods despite the health food craze that is sweeping the globe.

‘There are lots of trends today to suggest that butter is good for you,’ Nigella said.

‘The point is if you eat a balanced diet and have a healthy relationship with food nothing is necessarily bad for you. I like every food stuff in the world,’ she implored.

Sam, however, appeared more interested in moving on the interview than listening to Nigella’s public service announcement.

‘Let me ask you a genuine question now,’ she interrupted, prompting Nigella to hit back: ‘Oh, you’re saying that wasn’t a genuine question?’

Brushing the comment aside, Sam went on to ask for dinner preparation tips viewers at home could follow after her ‘stressful’ Christmas Day preparing a spread for the entire family.

'I'm not that person to them': Earlier in the interview, Sam asked Nigella about whether her friends were nervous about cooking for her- a question that prompted yet another uncomfortable moment

Earlier in the interview, Sam asked Nigella about whether her friends were nervous about cooking for her.

The question also elicited a somewhat hesitant response from Nigella, who was forced to explain that her friends don’t see her as anything more than just their companion

‘I’m not that person to them,’ she said.

Nigella’s early morning appearance comes after her one-night-only appearance at Sydney Opera House on Sunday night.
