Nigella Lawson reveals she has to tell US television networks not to airbrush her stomach

Nigella Lawson reveals how she has to tell US television networks not to airbrush her ‘sticking-out stomach’ as celebrity chef hits out at ‘hatred of fat’

Some stars might be pleased to see an airbrush let loose on their pictures – but not Nigella Lawson.

The celebrity chef has criticised US TV networks that try to make her look slimmer, revealing she had to tell them not to edit out her ‘sticking-out stomach’.

The 58-year-old, pictured, joins a growing number of stars to hit out at airbrushing after British actress Jameela Jamil called for it to be banned.

Miss Lawson tweeted: ‘I’ve had to tell American TV stations not to airbrush my sticking-out stomach.

‘The hatred of fat and assumption we’d all be grateful to be airbrushed thinner is pernicious.’

One fan replied: ‘I cannot for the life of me fathom anyone ever wanting to airbrush Nigella! You are absolutely gorgeous!’

Miss Jamil, 32, a former Radio 1 DJ who stars in US comedy The Good Place, had tweeted: ‘Airbrushing is used for ethnicity erasure, colourism, ageism, fat-phobia, ableism, racism and sexism … to make you hate your real face and body.’
