Nine interrupts the Remembrance Day service as broadcaster cuts to an ADVERT about shopping

Nine bungles its Remembrance Day coverage by joining midway through the minute’s silence – before cutting away for an ADVERT

Today Extra bungled their Remembrance Day broadcast by jumping into the coverage during the minute silence – before switching to an advert about shopping.

The Nine program showed Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Premier Gladys Berejiklian lay wreaths at the Martin Place ceremony just before 11am on Monday.

But instead of remaining at the Remembrance Day ceremony for the impending minute silence, the broadcast returned to the newsroom.

Today Extra hosts Sonia Kruger and David Campbell appeared confused as the camera panned across the studio as the clock struck 11am.

‘Can we go to Martin Place now?’ Campbell asked, before the broadcast awkwardly transitioned to the service.

The Nine program played the silence for about 40 seconds before a speaker at the ceremony concluded the minute with ‘Lest We Forget’.
