Channel Nine has launched an investigation after a Married At First Sight groom, set to appear on the 2025 season, faced court for serious domestic violence claims.
Adrian Araouzou had assault occasioning actual bodily harm, domestic violence common assault and resisting police charges dismissed in a NSW court in November 2021 after a magistrate found him not guilty.
He has denied the serious allegations after producers launched a review into how he was selected to appear on the popular dating show.
Endemol Shine, the producers of MAFS, have questioned the duty of care towards the woman who has been partnered with him on the show.
Daily Mail Australia understand Endemol and Nine launched an internal investigation and found Araouzou didn’t do any wrong doing.
According to The Australian, court documents state that in June 2020, police were called to the Sydney home that Araouzou and his partner shared after a witness allegedly heard screaming.
Officers arrived to find a ‘hysterical and barely consolable’ woman in the bathroom naked, with her ‘head in her hands and blood seeping through’, police said in a report.
‘Due to the actions of the defendant, police were required to restrain (him) using weaponless control,’ police said.

The woman signed a police statement several days later claiming the injuries were sustained as a result of a seizure and not Araouzou assaulting her.
A hospital report from the night states she was ‘unsure what happened but fears she was assaulted by her partner’.
Police alleged at the time of the incident, they believe the woman was ‘too afraid’ to speak.
Araouzou was found not guilty by a magistrate and cleared of any wrongdoing.
Araouzou said in a statement to The Australian on Tuesday: ‘Any suggestion of physical assault is categorically denied.’
‘I had my day in court, I was found not guilty and the application for an AVO was dismissed. Any allegation otherwise is completely baseless and highly defamatory,’ he said through a lawyer.’
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for comment.
