Talking from the red carpet at NME, FKA twigs explained how London inspires her songwriting, telling MailOnline: I lived in south London for many years, I went to college here.
‘I feel like London is really one of the only places that inspires my music. I tend to start it here and then go other places to focus. London is my home. Every single place in London has a memory.’

When quizzed on whether things have improved for women in the industry, she said: ‘I think I’m very cocooned within a team that really support me and a team that really look after my progress as a female artist. I can’t say that all women have that experience.
‘I think you can do it all yourself, don’t be scared of the technical side of music. It’s a great place to start, everything you do on their is a happy mistake. That’s where the best musical ideas come from. I was in the studio the other day with a producer and a lot more female artists and producers are coming through.’
Billie Eilish, Sam Fender and Wolf Alice are leading the nominations at the awards.
The ceremony will be co-hosted by comedian Daisy May Cooper and Grime star Lady Leshurr and will feature performances from Griff, Rina Sawayama, BERWYN, CHVRCHES and Robert Smith of The Cure.

Indie star Sam, 27, will compete for the Best Album In The World and Best Album By A UK Artist prizes for Seventeen Going Under, while the album’s title track received nods for Best Song In The World and Best Song By A UK Artist.
The Hypersonic Missiles hitmaker and Grammy-winner Billie will go head-to-head with The Weeknd, Grime star Dave, Arlo Parks, Rina Sawayama, and more, to be crowned Best Solo Act In The World.
Sam also received a nod for Best Solo Artist In The UK, along with Arlo, Dave, Simz and Rina.
As for Wolf Alice, the Ellie Rowsell-fronted group’s Mercury Prize-nominated album, Blue Weekend, is up for Best Album In The World and Best Album By A UK Artist, and the Smile rockers are also shortlisted for Best Band In The World and Best Band From The UK.
Elsewhere, International stars, including Lana Del Rey, BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Lorde, and Megan The Stallion have been nominated for some of the major prizes.

BTS and Coldplay’s My Universe secured a Best Collaboration nod and the K-Pop septet are also up for Best Song In The World for Butter.
Olivia is also up Best Song In The World for Good 4 U and Best New Act In The World.
Lorde’s Solar Power also has a chance of winning the coveted Best Song In The World prize.

Ahead of the ceremony, it was announced that Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff will be honoured with the Songwriter Award.
Jack said: ‘Looking at the company of artists who have received this award and I am absolutely humbled. This one goes out to everyone who writes and knows that sacred place it comes from. If you know it, it’s a place you live in. This means the world to me.’
‘To hear that Bleachers are also shortlisted for Best Live Act … well … that’s the s**t. We play every show like the last night on earth. So this one means a hell of a lot to be recognized for it.’
