A man wearing a hi-vis shirt was photographed standing on top of a car fishing in crocodile infested waters at a notorious Australian river crossing.

The area is known for it’s saltwater-crocodile infested waters, with some scaling up to five-metres long.

According to the commenters, the white Ute is stationed there permanently and the fisherman remained there until tide went back down.

Others users speculated there appeared to be another Ute toppled over on it’s side to the back left of the image.

The 47-year-old was pulled under by a 3.3 metre-long crocodile while he wading through the murky waters.

The man’s body was found about two kilometres downriver and the ‘very protective’ crocodile had to be shot dead so the body could be safely retrieved.
