Now THAT’S a brush with death! Heron has lucky escape after three foxes eye it up for dinner

Slinking up to a riverbank, these three wily foxes gaze greedily at what they hope is a nice hearty dinner.

The large grey heron perched just feet away is searching for its own supper – a fish to snap up.

However, the wading bird appears to be completely unaware what the foxes have in store for it.

The mammals will happily eat rabbits, rodents, frogs and birds.

Unluckily for this hungry family, the heron had eaten its fill from the River Dodder in Dublin and took off before they could get their paws on it.
