NRL star George Burgess tackles a new career with his first acting role in Aussie film Locusts.

He’s about to become a dad for the second time. 

But NRL star George Burgess has another role to play in life, that of an actor. 

The 26-year-old father of one has landed his first acting gig in the Australian film Locusts.

According to IMDB, the film tells the tale of ‘two estranged brothers who are reluctantly reunited in their remote hometown at their father’s funeral.’ 

The pair, ‘become the target of an extortion scam at the hands of a gang of violent local thugs’ a description on the movie website reads. 

The footballer appears to have the small role of a bouncer in the film but the film’s writer, Angus Watts, has nothing by praise.

‘He is bloody great. He is a big unit with big talent. He definitely has potential,’ the screenwriter tells The Daily Telegraph.

The movie is currently filming, and no release date is known for the Australian production as yet. 

For now the British-born athlete is focused on fatherhood, doting over one-year-old son Boston as he awaits baby number two, a daughter.

The family were all smiles for the photo, which she captioned: ‘Off on another family adventure. Our last trip just the three of us before Miss B joins us.’
