A kindhearted woman has left a touching note to firefighters up against horrific blazes telling them to help themselves to food and drink inside the home.
The woman, only known as Rachel, had to evacuate her home in Goonengerry, west of Byron Bay, and left a large note outside for emergency crews.
‘Hello amazing fireys,’ she began the note.

She let the group there was at least 7,000 litres of water on the property that could connect to their hose.
Rachel also added there was a pool, and that there is petrol stored in the car port.
However her sweet note went well beyond instructions for the firefighters – she also told them the back door to her home was open and they could grab food and drink inside.
‘Back door to house is open. Help yourself to food and drinks in fridge,’ she said
‘The house is the most important. If we lose the rest [it] doesn’t matter.’
She then thanked them for their hard work over the harsh season.
‘Thank you! You guys rock our world! Be safe,’ she wrote.

Paul Sekfy returned to his rural property in Yarranbella on the New South Wales Mid-North Coast on Saturday to find his house was still standing.
On his kitchen bench was a handwritten note left by a four-member Rural Fire Service crew from nearby Urunga who battled the flames.
‘It was a pleasure to save your house. Sorry that we could not save your sheds. PS we owe you some milk,’ the note read.
So far, fires in the NSW north-east have claimed three lives, destroyed more than 150 homes, and razed more than 1million hectares of forest and farmland since Friday
Mr Sekfy, a former local Labor Party candidate, called the firefighters heroes and thanked them on social media.
‘The best note on my kitchen bench since the morning after my wedding,’ he said.
As of 4pm there were 12 fires under emergency status in New South Wales on the mid-north coast – as firefighters prepared for a long night.
So far, fires in the NSW north-east have claimed three lives, destroyed more than 150 homes, and razed more than 1million hectares (3,800 square miles) of forest and farmland since Friday.
