NTAs 2020: The worst dressed stars include

The National Television Awards recognises TV’s top talent and brings out some of the most entertaining personalities in the industry – but tonight, some of the stars provided entertainment for all the wrong reasons. 

Arriving at London’s O2 Arena, former Love Island star Gabby Allen, 26, led the way for unusual outfit choices, donning a feather-embellished pale pink mini dress with a matching duster coat.

Meanwhile Hollyoaks star Jessica Fox, 36, certainly stood out in a strapless gold bandeau gown covered in sequins, and Eastenders actress Maisie Smith, 18, cut a curious figure in a strapless silver dress adorned which she teamed with perspex heels and a mismatched pedicure.

Elsewhere Good Morning Britain’s Political Editor Ranvir Singh made an unusual outfit choice in a plunging jumpsuit, adorned with patterned sequins.  

But jumpsuits proved a popular choice for the evening, with American singer Michelle Visage donning a sequin encrusted body suit complete with built-in fingerless gloves.

And brightening up the red carpet was reality star Sam Faiers, who opted for a bubblegum pink satin dress and star-shaped silver clutch.

One of the biggest nights in the TV calendar, stars from a rage of shows don their most glamorous looks to attend the lavish ceremony.

The most hotly contested category is Drama, which will see Killing Eve, Peaky Blinders, Line Of Duty, Call The Midwife and Casualty go head-to-head for the top prize.

Line Of Duty left viewers gripped in the spring when it returned with its fifth series, while Killing Eve has also been praised by fans despite the departure of showrunner Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Ant and Dec have been nominated for TV Presenter for the 19th year in a row, and face stiff competition from Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Graham Norton and Bradley Walsh.

In the comedy category, Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s lauded comedy Fleabag will go up against Ricky Gervais’ After Life, as well as Derry Girls, Sex Education, and former winner Mrs Brown’s Boys.

While the Big Four soaps will all compete for the Serial Drama Award, for Newcomer the nominees are Jurrell Carter (Nate Robinson in Emmerdale), Peter Ash (Paul Foreman in Coronation Street), Max Bowden (Ben Mitchell in EastEnders) and Imran Adams (Mitchell Deveraux in Hollyoaks).

Love Island has been nominated for Challenge Show alongside The Circle, The Apprentice, MasterChef and The Great British Bake Off.

And Little Mix star Jesy Nelson certainly stood out in a tangerine hued silk gown which revealed a generous glimpse of her leg and  featured a plunging neckline

Meanwhile Caprice sent pulses racing in a barely there  silver gown boasting generous transparent panels which looked to be inspired by Strictly Come Dancing
