BREAKING NEWS: Nurse is arrested and charged with PRETENDING to give patients the Covid vaccine

  • Nurse has been arrested and charged after pretending to give Covid vaccines

A nurse who works at a private medical centre in Perth has been arrested and charged after pretending to give patients the coronavirus vaccine.

The 51-year-old Registered Nurse, who works in St James in the city’s south, has been charged with ‘Gains Benefit by Fraud’ after committing fraudulent practices and recording of vaccine information.

On Sunday she allegedly stuck a needle stocked with the vaccine into a teenager’s arm but failed to inject it, before recording another nurse’s name on the documents.

The nurse allegedly gained permission from the private clinic to conduct the vaccination because the patient was known to her.

The friend of the nurse brought in her teenage son to receive his innoculation from the 51-year-old.

A second medical practitioner had to witness the vaccination under protocol, with that doctor then reporting her to authorities.

Western Australia Police then arrested the woman at her home in Byford before charging her with ‘Gains Benefit by Fraud’.

They will allege the woman stuck the needle in the teenager’s arm but failed to push down on the plunger.

The vaccine remained in the syringe before the woman disposed of the entire device.

She then allegedly recorded another nurse’s name as having given the jab.
